Madrid, June 4, 2026 – The startup Granter, from Portugal, has emerged as the winner of the Fintech & Insurtech vertical of South Summit Madrid 2026, co-organized by IE University. This startup has developed an application that uses Artificial Intelligence to help companies identify, write and automatically manage their applications for public aid and subsidies.
Mastercard has played a prominent role in the Fintech & Insurtech vertical, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and boosting the fintech ecosystem in Iberia. As part of the event, the company has selected the winning fintechs that will represent Spain and Portugal in the European final of Mastercard For Fintechs 2026, which this year will be held in Italy in November. Specifically, Stamp will be the fintech that will represent Spain and Humanos will be in charge of representing Portugal, in this competition whose objective is to support the growth of emerging startups through access to resources, strategic connections and greater visibility in the market.
In addition, Mastercard experts have participated in different sessions of the program to analyze some of the main trends that are transforming the payments sector, including AI, the evolution of digital payments and new collaboration models. With this, the company consolidates its role as one of the key players in the transformation and development of the payments ecosystem.
Under the slogan 'AI Convergence', South Summit Madrid brings together from yesterday, June 3, until tomorrow, June 5, some of the greatest global leaders in the entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem. The second day of the meeting was marked by the visit of His Majesty King Felipe VI, who was able to meet the finalist startups and participate in the AI Forum, organized by IE University.
The meeting will end tomorrow with the presence of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who will be in charge of closing the fifteenth edition of South Summit Madrid, in an event in which the winning startup of the Startup Competition will be announced, as well as the winners in the 'Most Disruptive' startup categories. 'More Sustainable', 'More Scalable' and startup with the 'Best Team'.
