Luis works as a professor at IE University and consultant specialized in Digital Financial Services and Sustainability for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank. He is also senior advisor at Beka Finance.
He has developed his career in economics and finance, holding senior roles in both public and private sectors. He was advisor to the Vice-president and Minister of Economy in Spain, CSO and executive committee member at Bankia (now CaixaBank), Director of Strategic Consulting for the Financial Sector at PwC Spain, Managing Director of the PwC–IE Business School Financial Sector, and senior advisor at Everis (now NTT Data).
He also has extensive international experience, having worked five years at the IMF in Washington DC as advisor to the Managing Director and in the Monetary and Financial Markets Department. He has been consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
He co-founded an IT firm in Big Data & Analytics and a digital broker, and has served on several financial sector boards.
Luis holds a PhD in Economics Cum Laude from Alcalá University, is Técnico Comercial y Economista del Estado, and holds Degrees in Law and Business Administration from ICADE. He also completed postgraduate studies in Business Administration at Georgetown University and the Global Senior Management Program at the University of Chicago and IE Business School.
