Marcelo, along with Sérgio Pretto, founded Nutec Informática in 1986 and participated in the creation of Terra Networks, which went public on NASDAQ in November of '99. In 1999, Marcelo was the co-founder of the advertising agency F.biz, acquired by the WPP Group in 2011. In 2009, Marcelo was the co-founder of Blue Interactive S.A., a cable TV company acquired by CLARO in 2016. In 2013, Marcelo was a co-founder and is the Chairman of Magnopus, Inc., based in Los Angeles, California. Marcelo was a board member of Atacadão S.A. (CRFB3) and is currently a board member of Bornlogic (chairman), Uncover (chairman), Rock Investimentos, Labi Saúde (chairman), and VRGlass. Marcelo studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.
