Matías Figliozzi is the co-founder and CEO of Unibaio, a biotechnology company developing solutions that help farmers grow more food with fewer agrochemicals. By transforming shrimp waste into biodegradable particles, Unibaio improves the performance of crop-protection products, working with growers, food companies, and agrochemical manufacturers to bring its technology to the field.
An Argentine economist trained at the University of Buenos Aires, Matías connects biotechnology, business strategy, and agricultural sustainability. He leads Unibaio’s international growth, partnerships, and fundraising from its headquarters in Ithaca, New York. Unibaio received the Most Sustainable Startup award at South Summit Brazil 2026.
