Madrid, June 5, 2026 – The Alcaste – Las Fuentes school, from La Rioja, has emerged as the winner of the South Summit Kids Competition 2026 for the second consecutive year, thanks to its Bioward project, a smart camera that uses AI and air sensors to detect viruses quickly.
The competition, held within the framework of South Summit Madrid 2026, has been developed together with Genyus School, the pioneering company and methodology® in entrepreneurial education for children and young people. This initiative seeks to promote the entrepreneurial spirit from an early age and recognize the innovative talent of projects created by students and educational centers throughout Spain. It also promotes values such as creativity, collaboration and the ability to identify real challenges and propose sustainable solutions with a positive impact on their environment.
Through this program, hundreds of children from all over the country have had the opportunity to design, develop and present their initiatives to a jury of experts. The experience has allowed them to acquire knowledge about entrepreneurship, transform their ideas into concrete projects and strengthen key skills such as communication, argumentation and the defense of proposals before a professional jury made up of entrepreneurs, which has taken into account criteria such as the clarity of the idea, its creativity and innovation, the impact of the project, the presentation of the same and the teamwork applied.
#SouthSummit26 has had the institutional support of the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council, as well as Mutua Madrileña, Google for Startups, BBVA Spark, Wayra – Telefónica Innovation and BStartup of Banco Sabadell.
