Founder
Philip Camilleri is a software engineer with over 30 years of experience across web, mobile development, telecoms, investment banking and startups. Born and raised in Malta, he co-founded SmartAsset in New York City in 2011, scaling it from zero to over 100 million users per month, becoming the first Maltese founder at Y Combinator, and raising over $150 million in venture capital at a unicorn valuation. Following SmartAsset, he joined Bitkraft Ventures as CTO, where he led a full rebuild of internal systems using 100% AI-generated code. Seeing the scale of the shift firsthand, he went on to found Codistry earlier this year, focused on upskilling engineers and non-engineers into AI-first builders. His work now targets the seismic shift in how software is built: AI coding agents deliver production-grade systems exponentially faster than human developers, and Codistry's goal is to equip anyone to harness these skills at full scale.
