Thomas Bigagli is a Partner at Plug and Play Ventures, one of the most active VC funds globally from SV, working at the intersection of venture investments, fund strategy, and innovation platform development across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
After living in more than 10 cities and launching his first startup project at 19, he developed a strong passion for technology and entrepreneurship, building several ventures before moving to the venture capital side. Since joining Plug and Play nearly a decade ago, he has helped expand the firm’s global presence, contributing to the launch of multiple offices and new investment and innovation programs. He also co-founded the EMEA Investment Committee, helping shape the region’s investment strategy.
Today, Thomas manages venture investments and works with family offices and institutional partners to launch and operate new funds for the firm. He also helped design Plug and Play’s Investment-as-a-Service model, enabling partners to invest directly in startups while generating strategic and financial value.
In parallel, he advises large corporations, governments, and institutions on innovation strategy, venture investment, and ecosystem development. He is also a guest lecturer at institutions including INSEAD, HEC, ESADE, and London Business School, focusing on venture capital, innovation, and startup–corporate collaboration.C
