Carlos is a co-founder and the CEO of CAAN. Before creating CAAN, Carlos was leading Metagestion, one of Spain's oldest independent fund management companies with c. €600 MM in AUMs, while also serving as Chairman of the Board for two years.
He has held senior executive positions for Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and ICBC Standard Bank in London and New York, with roles in the Global Markets division and regional responsibility for Southern Europe and Latin America. Carlos is an active venture capital investor in sectors including technology, finance, energy and digital brands.
He holds a BA & MBA from ESADE Business School. He has completed the Corporate Finance Program at London Business School. He holds the EFFA MiCA certification for Blockchain and Crypto Assets.
Carlos founded CAAN with the conviction that asset management is a trust-based architecture, not a product business. His vision is to democratize access to highly sophisticated, institutional-grade alternative strategies through a transparent, technology-enabled platform bringing liquid alternatives to investors historically excluded from this segment while upholding the highest standards of governance and discipline.
