Product Owner
Javier Diana López is Product Owner at CITYMET, where he leads the platform’s strategic direction, operational development, and market deployment. With a strong background in aviation, air traffic management, U-space, unmanned aircraft systems, and emerging air mobility ecosystems, he works at the intersection of technology and operations to ensure CITYMET meets the evolving needs of the aviation and urban mobility sectors.
He oversees the end-to-end development of CITYMET, from concept definition and stakeholder engagement to technical validation and commercialisation. His focus is on delivering high-resolution, actionable micro-weather intelligence that supports safer and more efficient operations in complex urban environments.
Javier brings extensive experience in advanced aviation systems, including SWIM, UTM and U-space architectures, digital airspace services, and ATM modernisation programmes. This expertise allows him to connect meteorological data, digital infrastructure, and operational decision-making in a practical and scalable way.
At CITYMET, he leads product requirements, validation frameworks, deployment strategies, and integration pathways with aviation stakeholders, smart city ecosystems, and future advanced air mobility services. A key part of his work is addressing one of the main challenges in low-altitude operations: the lack of reliable, localised atmospheric data in urban environments.
He is also actively involved in innovation programmes, industry collaborations, and international initiatives focused on the safe integration of unmanned aviation and advanced mobility services. Through this work, he contributes to building future operational ecosystems in which weather intelligence is a critical enabler of safety, efficiency, and scalability.
