Digital Sovereignty: Power, Infrastructure, and Control in the Digital Age

A growing share of economic, social, and political activity is now dependent on digital infrastructure controlled by a small number of global players. This session will explore what digital sovereignty means in practice, and how regions and governments are responding to questions of data ownership, cloud infrastructure, AI systems, and technological dependency. It will examine the strategic trade-offs between openness and control, and what it takes to build resilient, competitive digital ecosystems in an increasingly fragmented global landscape.
