Antônio Abelém is a Full Professor and Director of Research at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from PUC-Rio and was a visiting researcher at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (USA). He coordinates initiatives such as the Impact Coalition program in Belém-PA and the Belém Bioeconomy Innovation District (DIBB). He served as CEO of the Guamá Science and Technology Park (PCT Guamá) from its inauguration in 2010 until December 2018. He works on national and international projects in innovation and Future Internet, AI applied to networking, and blockchain, and promotes the use of technology to address socio-environmental challenges and support sustainable development in the Amazon.
