From this perspective, Airglow was born, a science-based climate-tech startup that innovates in construction materials through nanotechnology applied to surfaces, rediscovering the role of urban infrastructure as an energy system.
Airglow emerged in response to a concrete challenge in the built environment: heat accumulation, intensive use of artificial lighting, and energy waste in cities that increasingly rely on active systems, which have a high environmental and energy impact.
To address this issue, Airglow develops additives formulated from earth minerals, free of microplastics and of natural origin, which incorporate microscopic science into roofs and facades. These additives allow surfaces to manage thermal and light energy: they capture light and heat during the day, reduce the thermal load on buildings, and release that energy as illumination, lowering electricity consumption and improving energy efficiency.
Airglow's approach transforms existing surfaces into environmental performance assets, offering lighting solutions without electricity, urban heat reduction, and energy savings for buildings, public infrastructure, and urban environments.
Inspired by the intelligence of nature, Airglow proposes a new paradigm in construction: surfaces that stop being passive to actively work in favor of energy efficiency, enabling a concrete, scalable, and measurable path toward more resilient and low-carbon cities.
