Helke Carvalho Hernandes is currently Vice President at EFMD Global, where she leads international development and oversees the organisation’s offices in Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Americas. Prior to this role, she served as Director of Marketing, Communications and IT at EFMD.
In 2014, she was appointed Executive Director of AHRMIO, the Association for Human Resources Management in International Organisations, a global network dedicated to advancing people management practices in not-for-profit international organisations across governmental and non-governmental sectors. Since 2012, Helke has served as the European observer on the Board of Trustees of CEIBS, China Europe International Business School. She has also been a member of ESCP Business School’s International Advisory Board since 2019.
Helke joined EFMD in 2001 after completing a Master’s degree in International Trade at Solvay Business School. Before that, she worked for ten years at HSBC Bank Brazil. She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from UNAERP in Brazil and an MBA from ESCP Business School. During that time, she served for two years as Director of International Relations of the ESCP Europe Club MBA, the Executive MBA alumni association.
In parallel with her executive responsibilities, Helke is currently pursuing a PhD in Sustainability at Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, further deepening her engagement with the transformation of management education and sustainable development.
