Domingos Antonio Velho Lopes is an agricultural engineer graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and a rural producer since 1992, carrying out his activities in Mostardas and Palmares do Sul with his family. Current president of the Farsul System (2026-2029 term), he began his institutional activity in 1997 as president of the Rural Union of Mostardas. In 2003, he joined the board of the Rio Grande do Sul Agriculture Federation (Farsul). In the same year, he became a member of the Federation's Rice Commission. In 2022, he served as Secretary of State for Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development. Awards In 2005, he received the distinction of rice producer of the year through the Senar - O Sul Award; in 2009, he received the Rice Man of the Year award from Federarroz. In 2016, Lopes was honored with the Assis Brasil Medal during Expointer for his outstanding services to agriculture in Rio Grande do Sul. The following year, he took over the Environment Committee of Farsul and was appointed president of the entity's Superior Council. From 2018 onwards, he served as a full member of the State Environmental Councils; the State Water Resources Council and the Sanitation Council of RS, in addition to being a full member of the National Environment Committee of the National Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA).
