Dr. Rafael Roesler is the Scientific Director at FAPERGS and a Full Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Institute for Basic Health Sciences, and Head of the Cancer and Neurobiology Laboratory at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He received a B.Sc. in Biophysics, M.Sc. in Biochemistry, and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 1995, 1996, and 1999, respectively. He completed postdoctoral training in neurobiology at the University of California, Irvine, in 2001. His current research interests include brain tumor biology, pediatric cancers, and cancer neuroscience.
