Miriam Yokoyama Retz is the cofounder & CEO of Cienty (formerly Covalenty), an AI-powered B2B marketplace transforming procurement for Brazil’s highly fragmented pharmacy market. As a second-time founder, she focuses on building durable companies that solve structural problems in large, underserved markets. Cienty connects independent pharmacies with distributors and manufacturers, building the tech, data and fintech infrastructure powering a more efficient supply chain. Cienty is backed by leading investors including Astella, Aggir, Iporanga and operators behind companies such as iFood, Loggi and Gupy. Miriam holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Poli-USP and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Before Cienty, she founded EasyDeco, a B2B2C marketplace connecting architects, homeowners and home improvement stores. Earlier in her career, she worked in strategy consulting, M&A and private equity at Bain & Company and Pátria Investimentos, advising C-level executives on strategy, go-to-market and M&A projects in the pharmaceutical distribution and manufacturing sectors.
