Marcelo Favaro Borges is a Mechanical Engineer with a PhD from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He is currently Professor at the School of Engineering at UFRGS and a researcher at the Physical Metallurgy Laboratory (LAMEF-UFRGS) where he coordinates the research group in the area of Energy with an emphasis on structural integrity, fatigue, fracture mechanics and numerical modeling. He currently holds the position of Director of the UFRGS Scientific Park.
