Olivier Mache graduated in Architecture from the National University of Architecture of Grenoble (ENSAG) and continued his studies with a focus on in Industrial Design at IED Milano. During his career, Olivier has built a solid experience in design and innovation management. He defends an approach to design based on brand identity, human and environmental needs in order to fuel companies' innovation and growth strategies. He is currently a design and innovation consultant working for a wide variety of companies in Europe and America. Since 2017, he has also taken on the responsibility of Director of Strategic Design at NACAR Design in Barcelona. He works with clients in the consumer goods, biotech, healthcare, urban mobility and virtual reality industries. In addition, Olivier acts as a professor of product innovation and design in several Spanish and French universities. Since 2017 he has been leading the Master's program in Design Management at IED Barcelona. Olivier is the former Head of Design and User Experience for Hewlett Packard's Large Format Printing and 3D Printing Global Business Units. From 2010 to 2017 he led a team of 70 designers in Barcelona and Shanghai. His team has helped build HP Brand leadership and reputation, improve the usability of products and software solutions, and have consistently won multiple IF and Red Dot awards. He began his career with architectural projects in the banking sector, then evolved into product design in consulting firms in a wide variety of sectors such as sports (Salomon, Mavic, Julbo and Decathlon), components of building (Airwell, Idealstandard and Technal, winning the Equerre d'Argent prize at Batimat 1994) and packaging (Yacco and Pampryl, winner of the Packaging of the Year prize in 1995). Olivier was appointed head of industrial design for HP's business PC division in 1996 and later in 2002 he ran an innovation lab for HP EMEA marketing to analyze market trends, customer expectations and identify product innovation opportunities for the consumer digital camera and printer categories. In 2006, he became the Brand Design Manager of b'Twin, the cycling passion brand of the Decathlon group. He led a team of fashion designers, graphic designers and product designers who were reinventing bicycles, accessories and clothing for the city, sport, leisure and children use cases.
