Ainara Basurko Urkiri was born in Ondarroa in 1972. She holds a Law degree, specializing in legal-economic affairs from the University of Deusto, an MBA in business management and administration, and is an expert in business competitiveness and regional development. Her professional career began as a consultant in the strategy area at LKS Consultores (1997-2002). From 2002 to 2015, she served as the General Director of the Azaro Foundation, combining this responsibility with the management of the Lea Artibai Development Agency. Additionally, from 2007 to 2010, she taught economics and business strategy at the Faculty of Humanities and Business at the University of Deusto. In 2015, she took on the General Management of Beaz, and since 2019, she has been the Provincial Deputy for Economic Promotion.
